• Specialist: Independent licensed mental-health professionals (including but not limited to, psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, clinical psychologists, counsellors, and comparable practitioners) who provide services to Clients via the Platform.
• Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable person.
• Sensitive Data: Personal data revealing health or similar special categories.
• Processing: Any operation performed on personal data (collection, storage, use, etc.).
• Controller: The entity that determines purposes and means of processing (areekaweb S.A.L.).
• Processor: A third party that processes data on our behalf (e.g., hosting, payments).

How is my privacy and data protected?

At Areeka Care, your privacy and trust are fundamental. We adhere to international data protection standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, and Lebanese privacy laws. We only collect and store information necessary to provide online therapy services, such as your name, email, phone number, and session preferences. Your data is kept with respect, transparency, and according to the highest security standards. Inactive accounts are automatically deleted after two (2) years unless you log in to reactivate your account. By resetting your password and logging in, you confirm your desire to keep your account active. You retain full control over your data - you can request access, update, or delete it whenever you wish. All data and messages on our platform are encrypted, and sessions take place in secure, private virtual rooms. Areeka Care does not keep any records of your conversations or therapist notes — they remain only with the specialist.
